Now Comes the Night
September 17 – October 11, 2015

By E. M. Lewis
Directed by Alex Levy

In this world premiere, American journalist Michael Après has been released after being held hostage for 18 months in Iraq. Michael’s close colleague and friend, however, begins to suspect that Michael isn’t free yet. An explosive television interview puts their friendship to the test as secrets, lies, and betrayals haunt both men. When one last opportunity to be a hero presents itself; they are determined to take it. But at what cost?  This world premiere production by award-winning playwright E. M. Lewis is 1st Stage’s exciting contribution to the 2015 Women’s Voices Theater Festival.

The Chaos of Control
A discussion with Rev. Dr. Stephen Edmondson and panel
October 11, 2015
Following the 2pm performance

The Rev. Dr. Stephen Edmondson joins us again after leading a captivating talkback during The Good Counselor last spring. We'll discuss control (or the lack thereof) in Now Comes the Night and the resulting impact on truth and relationships. The panel will also discuss grand narratives versus personal narratives and the discovery of truth possible through both.
